Caid Scribes - Scroll Texts - Armigerious Orders

Armigerous Orders

(Dolphin, Harp Argent, Crescent Sword, Argent Arrow, Duellist)

Achievement: No arms need be displayed on the scroll. If no arms are shown, use the shorter text, omitting the bracketed portion.

Optional: If the recipient was non-armigerous (that is, had not yet received an Award of Arms) when admitted to the Order, these Orders confer an Award of Arms automatically. In such a case, the bracketed portion of the text must be included. The arms will be displayed with the gold crown of four points (as with the Award of Arms) above, and encircled by a blue ribbon, with the badge of the Order on a medallion hanging from the ribbon.

If the recipient was armigerous before receiving the Order, arms may (at the scribe's discretion) be shown. If they are shown, they may be displayed as described above.

In any case, if the arms are displayed, leave a signature line for the Crescent Herald, and space for the Herald's seal.

Text for the Order of the Dolphin:
Be it known to all nobility by these presents that We, King's name and Queen's name, King and Queen of Caid, send greetings. We hereby elevate Our subject Name to the Order of the Dolphin of Caid, for that he/she hath served this Realm far and above the normal expectation of his/her office/rank, [especially in area of service,] and for which cause We do publicly commend him/her. [By his/her entrance to the Order, We hereby award him/her the arms Blazon.] Given under Our hand and seal this date day of month, AD year by the common reckoning of years, and SCA year Anno Societatis.

Text for the Order of the Harp Argent:
Proclaim to all gentles, nobles, and artisans of the Known World that We, King's name and Queen's name, King and Queen of Caid, give you greetings. By virtue of the surpassing skill he/she hath demonstrated in Arts/Sciences/area of expertise, We do hereby elevate Our subject Name to the Order of the Harp Argent of Caid. We do here publicly commend him/her upon his/her accomplishment, for We recognize that his/her expertise doth greatly enrich Our Realm. [Moreover, in admitting him/her to the Order, We award him/her the right to bear the arms Blazon.] Given under Our hand and seal this date day of month, SCA year Anno Societatis, being the year AD year Anno Domini.

Text for the Order of the Crescent Sword:
Know all who come by these presents the greeting of King's name and Queen's name, King and Queen of Caid. By virtue of the skill at arms and noble presence he/she hath displayed upon the field of honor, We do hereby publicly commend Our subject Name and admit him/her to the Order of the Crescent Sword of Caid. [Furthermore, We do by this act award him/her the arms Blazon.] Given under Our hand and seal as of this date day of month, AD year A.D., being SCA year Anno Societatis.

Text for the Order of the Argent Arrow:
Greeting and benison unto all who read these presents, from King's name and Queen's name, King and Queen of the Sovereign Realm of Caid. Insofaras he/she hath demonstrated exceptional skill on the archery range, and well pleased by his/her gentle demeanor, We do hereby elevate Our subject Name to the Order of the Argent Arrow of Caid, and for which We do publicly commend him/her. [As token of Our commendation, We hereby award him/her the arms Blazon.] By Our hand and seal this date day of month, Anno Societatis SCA year, which is AD year by the common reckoning.

Text for the Order of the Duellist:
Unto all gentles and nobles of the Known World throughout, We, King's name and Queen's name, King and Queen of the Realm of Caid, send Our greeting and good wishes. For that he/she hath displayed great skill with the rapier, and behaved gently and in accord with the code duello, We do by these presents admit Our subject Name to the Order of the Duellist of Caid. We do publicly commend him/her for his/her prowess and presence, being well pleased by the same. [And as a mark of Our pleasure, We hereby award him/her the arms Blazon.] Given under Our hand and seal this date day of month, Anno Societatis SCA year, which is the Gregorian year AD year.
